Highlight

          Most of the students are saying that high school life is the happiest time and I agree to that. High school life is the happiest because it has more fun and less workload. This time of our lives is the time wherein we are going to the adult stage. We mature in this time of our lives and we can now make a decision that our parents will not be involve. It is because they loosen their grips a bit on the rules and we, therefore, experiment a lot during this time.

          High school life will not be complete without high school day. This event is the most awaited event of the students. For this event unites every student who are studying in a school. This year, Ilocos Sur National High School recently celebrated the 117th High School Day. It was filled with joy and laughters. From the start of the parade to the field demo where every student is to show their talent in dancing. It is a typical high school day that every student wants to have.

          High school day is a good event. It is where a relationship, a friendship to be exact, can be made. It is where socialization is held. This high school day is celebrated for us student to socialize and bring out our hidden talents. This event is enjoyable and I can say that this event is one of the highlights of our high school life.

This Is Who We Are

          Kannawidan festival is a festival in Ilocos in which showcases the heritage, tradition, culture, arts, crafts, and delicacies of Ilocos Sur. The Kannawidan, local term for traditional practice, is a festival in which it also strengthens the Ilocano culture. So, which means, that this festival must be annually celebrated in order to showcase and strengthen our Ilocano culture.

          Kannawidan is an Ilocano term meaning feast of rich heritage and culture. Due to this festival, Ilocanos have an opportunity to show all their talents and products. They show their talents through dancing, singing, sketching, and also painting. Through this festival, the tourism industry of Ilocos was enhanced or improved. It also helped to boost the demand of our products. There are also more job opportunities and livelihood opportunities. And also, more income to people were generated.

          In all these outcomes, I can say that Kannawidan Festival is not just a festival of fun, but also a festival of improving. I can say also that this is such an important and great festival for all of us Ilocanos. It is because it gives us benefits, good benefits, and it is because this is the time to reminisce our past, our culture, tradition, and to treasure it for this is our identity. This is who we are, Ilocanos.

Change And Grow

          The world is changing. Changing into something different. Something that is quite bad. It's changing so fast. From the people, technologies, education, health, cars, eating habits, dresses, and many more. It's like, we already set aside our purpose in this world which is to take care of our world. Our world is one of the most precious thing that God gave to us but we are neglecting it. From cutting off the trees which provides us shelter to make things like house, papers, pencils, and others. From throwing trashes to the rivers and oceans. From these actions, I can conclude that people are really changing. And most of us like to change these bad actions into good or better actions in order to change our world. But really, we can't change our world if you even can't change yourself.

    Change is the only thing that is permanent in this world. If we aim to change the world, we must change ourselves first. Even if changing is hard, we must learn to do it for our better future. When I mean change yourself, it's not yourself but it's your actions, bad actions. And in order to change that, we must get real with ourselves. We must take our aim into the heart in order to be successful. We must put also God in our hearts, for He is the one who can really guide and help you. Always dream and shoot higher than you know you can do. Do not bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself. 

      Changing the world is useless if you can't even change yourself. Change starts with you. Change starts with me. Change starts with all of us people. If you want to change the world for its betterment, you must learn first how to change yourself. And that is the truth. The truth that should be done because when you change, and grow and get better, everything in your life will change and grow and get better.

          New Year's Day is a national holiday celebrated on January 1st, which is the first day of a new year. It is the time at which a new calendar year begins. This event is celebrated around the world. Most people are excited about this event because another year means fresh start, the beginning of something new and being able to change something with yourself. It is a fresh start to make new memories and decisions. It is a chance to commit to something new about yourself.

          Every time the New Year comes, it seems like the perfect time for self-improvement. But I cannot deny the fact that I've always failed what I promised during new years but again, this year, I promise myself that this time will be different. This year will be much more amazing than the previous year. This year, I would like to change something with myself. I like to focus more on to my priorities such as my studies because as we all know, this year, we will graduate from junior high school which is so amazing. I would also like to change a little bit of my attitude because I realized that I'm such a hussy to my friends, my classmates, and also to my parents. From the past years and my past experiences, I have learned things specially in the aspects of life itself, which made me realized to act accordingly and responsibly. That is why I came up with ideas which are now made into my promises.

          New Year is like a new book, every page is blank. We are the ones who will be going to put words on them. We are like authors in our everyday lives. You are the author of your own life and I'm the author of my own. And this year, I will give my best shot and I will be the author like no other. I only live my life once so might as well try new things, make so much memories, and try to make a new version of me.

          

Reflection

ICT is one of the most interesting subjects. It gives you knowledge about computers which always loved by many. We all know that we are in a generation wherein computers are everywhere, technology is everywhere. During the third grading, I, together with my classmates, learned so many things again like in the first and second quarter. I gained knowledge about the web design which is so interesting and fun. It was difficult but it was really fun.

Everyday, we cannot avoid to have challenges to come in our way. When we are learning, we cannot avoid to have challenges too. During the third quarter, I have faced so many challenges like lack of time, fear of not understanding the lectures, fear of failure, and self-doubt. I have faced many more challenges but these four were overflowing everyday so I picked them up.

Challenges are like problems that are so difficult to deal with. At first, I really, really doubted myself if I could do this but I just trusted myself. When challenges have faced me, I intended to overcome those head-on. I addressed my challenges not as something bad but as necessary to get something right. I addressed challenges as a subject because I learned from it. We can learn something from our challenges. Just don't run away from it, instead, overcome it.

Moving on, I will be much more active and lively. I will give my 100% effort to this subject for the next 2 months. I will study harder. I will trust myself more. I will not doubt myself anymore. I will help myself to learn more. I will overcome the challenges that will be on my way and lastly, I will pass this subject with a smile.

God's Love

            A miracle son was born to a blessed father and mother. He was born like no any other was. As He grows up, He learned it was the Almighty Father who had gave Him. And then, here comes those blasphemers that had killed Him. For He was the son of the Highest and He gave up His life for the sake of those people who are called sinners, us. For this reason, He was acknowledged and everybody celebrated His birthday every year, this celebration is called Christmas.

            Christmas is a special occasion and a special season. A season of joy, peace, of great tidings. It is the time of year where we celebrate the birth of God. It is a time for the contemplation of eternal things. Christmas means a spirit of love. Love because of the time that the love of God and the love of all people should prevail over all hatreds and all bitterness. It is the time where the presence of God had manifest all our thoughts, deeds, and the spirit of our lives. The essence of Christmas is all about love. Love is just word yet it doesn't have any specific definition. But there is a word I can describe love. Love is God.

            Everyday feels like Christmas because is so good to us everyday. But this specific time of year, December 25, is much more extra special. It's known as our God's birthday and there's just something about this that turns people's hearts and minds to peace, love, and goodwill. I guess, that's the power of love God always gives to us. God always gives us an endless love and finally, all upcoming Christmas, may we contemplate God's humility in Jesus. May we all take his hand, a hand which only seeks to take nothing from us, but only to give.

Together

            We all know that we are now living in a modernized world and where everyone doesn't give an interest to anyone. It is believed that all human beings are now equal. But in some matter and some people, being equal is hard to believe. Yes, there are women who empowered men but something's off. Some men doesn't believe to women's capability. They feel like they are much more powerful than women because there are some things that men can do and women can't. But the world can't be so much more wonderful if there are discrimination and inequality. Men and women must work together and respect each other so that this modernized world that we live in will be a much better place.

            Equal rights is a concept that every person is to be treated equally by the law. As the word says its meaning, equal. Equal means having the same or same value for each person. Equal rights were created for everyone. For everyone deserves equal treatment. For everyone deserves equal rights. If this equal rights will bloom in the whole world, it will spread like a beautiful flower. Having equal rights means that everyone is treated equally. And treated equally means having equal opportunities. Opportunities that deserve to be spread in all areas in the whole world.

            All people in this world deserve equality. Equality that is now slowly fading. But let's not let it fade no matter what because having an equality word in our everyday lives means a wonderful and successful world. Let us not make someone feel like they are low and left behind, instead hold someone's hand and walk together to a path wherein its end is where happiness lies. We must always be together and equal in each matter because a world with men and women walking together, working together, respecting each other, and loving each other, positively have a peaceful world.
